What your site needs for Polar X1

  • Power point: Dedicated three-phase circuit — Wired straight to the charger from your distribution board.
  • Supply cable: 4 sq mm, 5-core copper — XLPE / HR FRLS, up to 78 m. Use 6 sq mm up to 117 m; longer runs need a site survey.
  • Circuit breaker: 20 A four-pole MCB — A breaker of its own, so the charger never shares a circuit.
  • Surge protection: Type 2 SPD, 3P+N — 275 V, 20 kA nominal / 40 kA max, fitted at the distribution board. Required.
  • Earthing: Proper earthing — Required for every install. Our electrician checks it before switching on.
  • Voltage stabiliser: Only if your supply fluctuates — If the voltage drops or spikes often, add a suitable stabiliser.

Will Polar X1 work with my car, and how fast will it charge?

It works with any electric car that has a Type 2 socket, which covers almost every electric car sold in India. Your car decides the top speed: a car that accepts 7 kW charges at 7 kW even on a bigger charger. The charging-speed tool on this page shows the time for your model.

Can my home’s electricity connection take it?

Check two things on your electricity bill: your sanctioned load, and whether the supply is single phase or three phase. This page lists what Polar X1 needs under “What your site needs”. If your load is short, your electricity company can increase it; the application is made in your name and we guide you through it.

What wiring, breaker and earthing does it need?

A dedicated circuit of its own, a breaker, a surge protection device and proper earthing. The cable size, breaker rating and longest cable run for Polar X1 are listed under “What your site needs” on this page. Longer runs need a site survey.

Is it safe outdoors and in the rain?

Yes. The charger is rated for protection against dust and water (the rating is in the specifications on this page), so it can be used outdoors.

What happens after a power cut?

When the charger is set to Quick charge or Plug & charge mode, charging resumes on its own once the power is back.

Who installs it, and what if I live in a society?

We deliver, install and service in every city across India. Installation covers mounting the charger, fitting its breaker and surge protection device, testing and commissioning, with cable-laying labour for up to 10 metres.

If the charger or its cable passes through common areas, you will need permission (NOC) from your society before the visit.

What if it stops working?

Raise a service request or write to support@zevpoint.com. We first try to fix it remotely over a call or video, which is usually the quickest. If it needs repair, we arrange a free pickup from your address and deliver the repaired or replacement charger back. Technical support is free for the life of the charger.

Does the app need a particular Wi-Fi?

The Zevpoint Home app connects the charger over a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If your router is 5 GHz only, a 2.4 GHz mobile hotspot works as well.

Can I use Polar X1 on a single-phase supply?

Yes, but it charges at up to 3.6 kW instead of 11 kW. On single phase the charger is limited to 16 A. For the full 11 kW you need a three-phase supply and a car that accepts 11 kW.

Polar X1 is a wall-mounted 11 kW charger for homes and workplaces with a three-phase supply. It draws 16A per phase and delivers up to 11 kW to cars that can take it.

It needs a three-phase supply and a car that charges on three phase for 11 kW. On a single-phase supply, or with a car that charges on single phase (most 7.2 kW cars), it gives only about 3.6 kW; for those, Polar Pro is faster. Start a session by plug, RFID card or the Zevpoint Home App. The XL version has a 7 m cable.

Specifications

  • Output: Up to 11 kW
  • Supply: Three phase, 380-415V
  • Single-phase supply or car: About 3.6 kW. It draws 16A per phase, so on a single-phase supply, or with a car that charges on single phase (most 7.2 kW cars), a 7.5 kW charger is faster.
  • Current: Adjustable from 8A to 16A
  • Plug: Wired to a dedicated circuit (wall-mounted)
  • Car connector: Type 2 (IEC 62196-2)
  • Cable length: 5 m (7 m on the XL version)
  • Control: Plug and charge, RFID card, Zevpoint Home App (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth)
  • Updates: Over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates
  • Protection rating: IP66, dust and water resistant
  • Safety: 10+ built-in protections: emergency stop switch, overload, short-circuit, leakage, earthing, over-temperature, over-current, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, charge-status detection and warning indicators
  • Operating temperature: -35°C to +60°C
  • Unit size: 322 x 188 x 119 mm
  • Weight: 6.5 kg
  • Packed size: 440 x 400 x 200 mm
  • In the box: Polar X1 charger, mounting bracket, RFID card, mounting screws, installation manual
  • Warranty: 5 years on cable and enclosure, 2 years on all other components

Installation

  • Power point: A dedicated three-phase circuit, wired to the charger
  • Cable: 4 sq mm 5-core copper cable (XLPE / HR FRLS) for a run of up to 78 m from the distribution board; 6 sq mm up to 117 m. Longer runs need a site survey.
  • Circuit breaker: 20A four-pole MCB
  • Surge protection: Type 2 SPD, three-phase (3P+N), 275 V, 20 kA nominal / 40 kA max, at the distribution board, required
  • Earthing: Proper earthing is required
